What happens if a tournament coincides with a scheduled practice day?

Tournaments count as team training sessions.

Tournaments are an important part of your team’s growth and development. If a tournament overlaps with a regular practice day, the tournament itself is considered a team training session for that week. This means participating in the tournament will fulfill the team's training requirements for that specific week.

Why We Don’t Always Add Extra Practices

Our practice schedule is carefully crafted around the availability of both families and coaches. The practice day and time you see is the best option that works for everyone involved. If practice were scheduled on a different day, we likely wouldn’t have been able to field this team due to conflicts with players’ or coaches’ availability. That’s why additional practices are typically not possible when a tournament replaces practice. Our practice schedule is designed with great care to ensure it works for both families and coaches. Coordinating gym time, coach availability, and everyone’s personal schedules can be quite the balancing act! Because of this, additional practice sessions may not always be possible when a tournament replaces a practice session.

Looking for Extra Reps?

While extra team practices may not always be feasible, we encourage players to take advantage of opportunities to join another team’s practice as a guest! This is a great way to get some extra reps and continue working on your skills.

If you’re interested, please contact us at info@socalvbc.com to schedule a time to join another practice. We’d love to help you keep growing and improving!
